Why This Recipe Works Adaptively

✂️ Zero Peeling or Chopping: Uses pre-cut beef stew meat, whole baby carrots, petite creamer potatoes, and pre-diced onions/celery.
🛍️ Zip-and-Shake Flour Coating: Coat meat directly in a zip-top bag to eliminate heavy mixing bowls and one-handed wrist fatigue.
🍲 No Stovetop Browning: Everything dumps directly into the countertop slow cooker insert without standing over a hot stove.
🍲 One-Pot Balanced Meal: Combines protein, starches, and vegetables into a single complete dish so no side prep is required.

    🛒 Store Shortcut: Produce pre-diced
  • 1½ cups Low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup All-purpose flour (for coating)
  • 1 tsp Jarred minced garlic (or paste)
  • 1 tsp Paprika, ½ tsp black pepper, ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large Bay leaf

Helpful Equipment

• 5-6 Qt Slow Cooker
• Gallon zip-top bag (for flour coating)
• Kitchen Scissors (for package snips)
• Slow cooker liner (for zero scrubbing)
• Long-handled ladle

Preparation Steps

  1. Set Up the Slow Cooker
Position the slow cooker on a stable countertop where it can remain. Insert liner if using.
Adaptive Tip: Set up everything before adding liquid or meat so you never have to move a heavy cooker.
  2. Coat Beef (Zero Bowl Method)
Add flour, salt, and pepper into a gallon zip-top bag. Add pre-cut beef, seal, and gently shake to coat. Empty beef directly into slow cooker.
Adaptive Tip: Snip open meat packaging with kitchen scissors to prevent hand strain.
  3. Add Vegetables & Liquid
Dump in baby carrots, whole petite potatoes, pre-diced onions, and celery. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic, and bay leaf.
  4. Slow Cook Unattended
Cover and cook on LOW for 8–10 hours or HIGH for 4–6 hours until the beef breaks apart easily with a spoon.
  5. Ladle & Serve Safely
Remove bay leaf. Use a long-handled ladle to serve stew directly from the crock into lightweight bowls.
Safety Tip: Never attempt to lift or tilt a hot slow cooker insert—ladle directly from the counter!
