Why This Recipe Works Adaptively

🍗 Pre-Split Party Wings: Buying party wings pre-cut into drumettes and flats removes heavy knife work and reduces raw chicken handling.
🍲 Microwave Sauce Method: Warmed in a glass measuring cup in the microwave instead of simmering on a hot stove—less standing and one less pot to wash.
🛍️ Zip-and-Shake Seasoning: Coat wings in cornstarch directly inside a gallon zip-top bag to prevent wrist strain from tossing in heavy bowls.
🍗 One-Handed Plating Option: Drizzle sauce over plated wings rather than tossing in a bowl if managing heavy hot bowls is difficult.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pre-split chicken party wings
    🛒 Store Shortcut: Pre-split drumettes & flats
  • ¼ cup Hot honey
    🛒 Store Shortcut: Bottled ready-to-pour
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tsp Jarred minced garlic & 1 tsp ginger paste
🛒 Store Shortcut: Refrigerated paste tubes
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce & 1 tsp bottled lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper
  • ½ cup Cornstarch (for crispy coating)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder & 1 tsp onion powder
  • ¼ cup Pre-sliced green onions & sesame seeds
🛒 Store Shortcut: Produce section pre-cut

Helpful Equipment

• Air Fryer (or Countertop Oven)
• Gallon Zip-top Bag (for coating)
• Microwave-safe measuring cup with handle
• Kitchen Scissors (for package snips)
• Tongs or wide spatula

Preparation Steps

  1. Microwave the Sauce (No Stovetop)
In a microwave-safe glass measuring cup, combine hot honey, gochujang, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and ginger paste. Microwave for 30–60 seconds, stir until smooth, and mix in green onions.
Adaptive Tip: Using a glass measuring cup with a handle is easier to lift and removes stovetop monitoring.
  2. Coat Wings in Zip-Top Bag
Place wings into a gallon zip-top bag. Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and cornstarch. Seal and gently shake to coat evenly.
Adaptive Tip: Snip open chicken packaging with kitchen scissors to prevent hand strain.
  3. Air-Fry Until Extra Crispy
Arrange wings in a single layer and air-fry at 400°F for 25–30 minutes, flipping midway with tongs until browned and crisp.
  4. Sauce & Serve
Transfer wings to a platter and drizzle or brush the warm sauce over top. Garnish with sesame seeds and pre-cut green onions.
Low-Fatigue Option: Serve as a Wing Bowl over microwave jasmine rice or steam-in-bag broccoli!
