Why This Recipe Works Adaptively

🥩 Leave It Whole: No meat cutting required. Place the entire boneless pork shoulder roast directly into the slow cooker to tenderize effortlessly.
🥔 Zero Peeling or Chopping: Uses whole baby Yukon Gold potatoes, bagged baby carrots, and pre-peeled garlic cloves straight from the package.
⚡ Skip the Stovetop Searing: Eliminates skillet browning, hot oil handling, and extra pans to wash without sacrificing savory flavor.
🍲 Safe One-Pot Serving: Ladle the tender roast and vegetables directly from the crock into bowls—never lift or tilt a heavy hot insert.

How to Prepare Adaptive Garlic Pork Roast

  1. Set Up the Slow Cooker
Position the slow cooker on a stable counter where it can remain throughout cooking. Insert a slow cooker liner if desired.
♿ Adaptive Tip: Once filled, the slow cooker becomes heavy. Never plan to move it after loading.
  2. Add Vegetables
Place whole baby potatoes, baby carrots, optional onion quarters, and whole garlic cloves into the bottom of the slow cooker.
♿ Adaptive Tip: Use kitchen scissors to snip open produce bags rather than fighting with tear seals.
  3. Add Whole Pork Roast
Open the pork package with kitchen scissors and place the roast directly on top of the vegetables. Season the top lightly with salt and pepper.
♿ Adaptive Tip: Do not cut, shape, or tie the roast. Skipping the stovetop searing saves heavy lifting and cleanup.
  4. Pour Broth & Slow Cook
Pour the chicken broth around the roast. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–9 hours or HIGH for 4–6 hours until the pork is fork-tender.
  5. Separate & Serve Safely
Gently press against the tender pork with a sturdy spoon to separate into chunks. Ladle directly from the slow cooker into serving bowls.
♿ Safety Tip: Never lift or tilt the hot slow cooker insert. The whole garlic cloves will have melted into sweet, tender morsels—enjoy them mashed with potatoes!
